Daar het so bietjie verwarring ingetree wil dit blyk met perde wat vanaf Namibie skou na SA, in verband met hulle status.

Met navrae na die President van die Saalperdvereniging in SA het die antwoord gekom as volg:

Enige deelname van ‘n perd aan ’n ope klas is ’n diskwalifikasie uit nuwelingsklasse uit.

Geen perd wat dus deelgeneem het aan ‘n ope klas in Namibie, mag deelneem in SA as nuwelingsperd op enige skou nie.

Ek hoop dit is dus vir almal duidelik wat beplan om met perde in SA deel te neem dat status van Namibiese perde ook geld in SA.

Die Suid-Afrikaanse reels wat van toepassing is op perde in SA vir deelname aan die Suid-Afrikaanse Nasionale Kampioenskappe is ook van toepassing op alle perde in Namibie.

Alhoewel die getalle min was, was die gees van die deelnemers baie hoog. Mantie Oberholzer het as beoordelaar opgetree met Pieter Lambrechts as baanbeampte en Frans Steyn as omroeper. The SA Saddle Horse Association have started a Breed Promotion Committee tasked to  market  the Saddle horse to other disciplines.  They want to start focusing, as the Americans do, to get Saddle horses into dressage, jumping, endurance, etc. There is a brochure  they have compiled about saddle horses doing other disciplines (see clicks below).  If anyone has pictures or information of saddler's doing other disciplines they would appreciated it if you would let them know about it, so that they can follow these saddlers and give them some media attention and promotion.

The fun day held on the 6th of March was a huge success and everyone had alot of fun.  everyone can now look forward to the next fun day (Boeresportdag) on the 10th of April.

News 2009

The National Championships were held over the weekend of the 16th and 17th of October at the Reit Club Okahandja.  The show turned out to be a huge success.....
