History of the Association
Vereniging Geskiedenis
The universal idea of the exhibitor at a horse show
is to achieve perfection. The duty of the judge is to recognize that
which is closest to this ideal of perfection, and moving freely within a
framework of rules, to place them in order of excellence.
Judging is a process of discrimination, of drawing a distinction between
two contenders and the degree of competition will always modify the
degree of discrimination.
The Riding Horse Judges Association flowed from the Riding Horse
Breeder's Society of South Africa and Rhodesia which was founded in
1942.
Courses and examinations for judges were held as early as 1946 under the
auspices of the
Breeder's Organization.
The missionof the association is to uplift and promote the quality of
horse shows by decisions where knowledge and integrity are the yardstick
of service and the motto "Justice To The Horse" is always kept in mind.

Oudste's van die Saalperde
Etienne Botha - Otjiwarongo: hy
Altyd
by met raad - soms heel ongevraagd, maar altyd goed bedoel!
